So In the end, I’m going as Aya Shameimaru to Avalancha again. Despite the pounds I’ve packed the blouse and skirt still fits me somehow. Also, I just found the hat, and still looks fine, albeit a bit out of shape.
Because I don’t want to cut my hair, I bought a wig. It’s a cheapass party-store wig that’s not even the right color, but at least it’s the right cut so it’s ok I guess. I also bought new shoes; the ones I had from last year are a bit dirty and I don’t want to ruin them further by trying towash the satin. Now I’l lacking undershirts ans socks, and maybe makeup, but I’ll solve that tomorrow.
Also, I’m going to try to make a maple leaf-shaped fan, to complete the look and achieve the 70% handmade minimum limit imposed by Avalancha’s people for the people wanting to pay Cosplay Entrance prize.

The crying is a very important part of the progress :)

So, talking with the boyfriend today, and now I’m seriously considering doing God Tier Jade for Avalancha, as long as the boyfriend gets to be God Tier John. That’s not problem, really: with this time ahead (which is not that much but still), I could convince my mom of sew both costumes or at least my dress, and/or get a seamstress to do both or just his.
the thing is, Boyfriend only wants to do God Tier John because of wanting to have the Hammer of Zillyhoo and flaunting it to unsuspecting non-English-speaking Venezuelan otakus. Boyfriend also has two backwards hands on handicraft things, and the only people who could help him with that, his Art student sister and his mother are a half time student with two kids under 8 caring an elderly relative and a full time Bolivarian revolutionary respectively.
I have the feeling that I should simply make a Minamitsu Murasa cosplay and ask another cosplayer I know if she can lend me the giant anchor she made for a cosplay of hers. But still, I’m already searching for references.
